We’re excited you’ve chosen 911±¬ÁÏÍø! The next step in joining the 911±¬ÁÏÍø community is to choose your ROAR option. ROAR is the required orientation for all incoming 911±¬ÁÏÍø to support your transition to the university. Our programs are designed to familiarize yourself with the community that will support and give you the confidence to begin your Raider journey on the right foot.

Step 1: Choose the ROAR option that best meets your needs

OPTION 1: In-person ROAR

This orientation option, designed for students transitioning to a fully immersive 911±¬ÁÏÍø college life experience with less than 30 credits from their previous college experience(s), will include sessions on:

  • Building community amongst other first-year students and your orientation leader, a current 911±¬ÁÏÍø student.
  • Recognizing the people, spaces, and campus resources that support your personal growth and academic journey.
  • Understanding academic expectations at your new university to ease the transition to 911±¬ÁÏÍø.

For the guests that will join you for the in-person ROAR, they will participate in their own mini-911±¬ÁÏÍø orientation, gathering additional information that will help on your academic journey. Their sessions include:

  • Learning about the inner workings of tuition billing, payment/financial account information, and financial aid opportunities
  • Understanding how to support your independence and growth while navigating academics, careers, and involvement

  • Students and guests will attend separate sessions throughout the day.

Event Details 

  • Location: Kern Center, 1245 N Broadway, Milwaukee, WI 53202
  • Time: 9:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
  • Parking: Parking will be available at 501 E. State St., Milwaukee, WI 53202 (State Street A Parking Lot). Check the campus map for exact locations. Please note, we cannot reimburse parking in other lots.

OPTION 2: Virtual ROAR

This orientation option, designed for students continuing their academic journey after accumulating more than 30 credits during their previous college experience(s) or assuming post-high school responsibilities (military service, guardianship over dependents, full-time work experience), will include mini-sessions on:

  • Becoming oriented to 911±¬ÁÏÍø’s technology that supports learning, communicating, and managing student responsibilities.
  • Navigating student account information, payment & budget plans, financial aid processes, and employment that aid in financing your education.
  • Understanding the 911±¬ÁÏÍø Mindset while identifying an academic routine to support long-term success.

  • Students will receive a Microsoft Teams link to join their virtual ROAR sessions.

Event Details

  • Technology Requirements: Device with reliable high-speed internet, a webcam, microphone. 
  • Dates: Three, 1.5 hour sessions during the week of August 10-14. 
  • Additional Information: Sessions will be interactive; login from a location that limits distractions and allows for both video and audio participation.

Step 2: Complete Your Admitted Student Next Steps

  • Log in to your  and email
  • Upload your Raider ID Card Photo*(Submission needs to be completed and photo must be approved)

Step 3: Join a Meet Up

The Transfer and Adult Meet Ups are a space to meet and build your 911±¬ÁÏÍø community! Occurring monthly throughout the summer and into your first semester at 911±¬ÁÏÍø, students are welcome to join at their leisure. Here are a few upcoming Meet Ups:

  • June: Navigating Life as a Raider (virtual)
  • July: Career Preparation & Readiness (virtual)
  • August: Welcome Week Social
  • Semester Monthly Meet Ups: Stay tuned for more information!

Once you are admitted and paid your deposit, you will receive an emailed invitation to register for upcoming Meet Ups.  For virtual Meet Ups, your registration will provide the Microsoft Teams link to join the Meet Up.
